Occasionally we get asked to provide our gorgeous homewares for press samples, and we were thrilled to be asked by Caroline Oakey of Oaki Designs to provide some items for a room scene that she was designing especially for this years Grand Designs show.

 scene 1

Grand Designs Live is based on the hugely successful Channel 4 TV series and is presented by design guru Kevin McCloud.  Launched in London in 2004, and in Birmingham in 2005 the show has won multiple industry awards and has been hailed ‘the UK’s most successful exhibition launch in the last decade’.

scene 2

Grand Designs Live promises to break down the conventional limitations to home building and offers visitors a chance to discover the latest innovations, explore this year’s trends and preview unseen products from around 500 exhibiting companies.

scene 3

Caroline Oakey is the creative force behind the successful Interior Design agency,  Oaki Design.  Caroline’s Blackadder TV inspired set was to feature many of our stylish Nordal homwares, including our fantastic Beru Throw, a Brass Vase, Copper Pitcher and some beautiful Copper Picture Frames that she was going to showcase some gorgeous fabric.

scene 4

The Grand Designs competition was judged by Sophie Robinson and Daniel Hopwood of Great Interior Design Challenge fame!  And guess what.  She only went and won the whole thing!  Brilliant work Caroline!
